More About Me
Amor intellectualis quo FK se ipsum amat
Hello folks!
My name is Furkan Kınlı. I was born in April 1993 in Aydın, Turkey, and moved to İstanbul for my education.
I am currently working as a faculty member in the Department of Artificial Intelligence at Bahçeşehir University. I received my B.Sc., M.Sc., and most recently my Ph.D. in Computer Science from Özyeğin University (the triple crown!). My research journey began with fashion image understanding and capsule networks during my M.Sc., and continued into style modeling for image restoration tasks throughout my Ph.D., under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Furkan Kıraç. My doctoral thesis, “Modeling the Lighting as Style Factor via Neural Networks for White Balance Correction”, was successfully defended in May 2025. Current research interests include computational photography, image signal processors (ISP), night photography rendering, color science, and image restoration & enhancement.
I prefer being an academician and scientist who contributes to Computer Science for the welfare of the community, rather than a developer working solely for individual gain.
In my social life;
I have a friend, named “Alex”. I got inspired by Alex de Souza (ofc!).
Sports
I am a fan of basketball, especially NBA. Go Pacers!
I was individual-licensed player for Billiards and also, I was the instructor of two Billiards courses at Özyeğin University. Snooker and Neil Robertson have something special for me and I pursue them sensually.
